Aircraft scales belong to the family of floor or platform scales for vehicles. As a kind of floor or platform scale, aircraft scales are specifically designed for handling wheels. Like truck or automobile scales, these scales rest on a solid surface, i.e., either a floor or paved road, and include a platform and a ramp onto which a vehicle may be driven. Aircraft scales are portable, and can be moved from place to place which allow operators to weigh their vehicles at remote locations without using large stationary platform scales.

Like their floor scale cousins, aircraft scales involve driving a vehicle onto the apparatus. Because of this, it is a desirable feature of an aircraft scale that its height is as small as possible. By minimizing the height of the aircraft scale, the dangers associated with driving a vehicle onto a platform, i.e, tipping over, are minimized. Because of its reduced height, aircraft scales also require less material for their construction, require less floor space and reduce the length of the ramp needed to drive the airplane onto the scale. With aircraft scales there is no need to use a jack to lift the plane. The platform is simply placed on a level surface and the plane is pushed or pulled onto the platform. Our ISI Wheel-weigher is wide enough to accommodate a dual-wheel. It is placed on the ground and is ramped on both sides. The plane is manoeuvred onto the scale one wheel at a time.	Air Freight Scales Also known as a pancake scale, the air freight scale is designed to withstand the tough and fast pace of the air freight industry. This 10'x 10'x 3.5", 20,000 lb. capacity industrial scale is ideal for weighing all common airfreight containers, large machinery, or large crates.
