Wheel Weighers

Wheel weighers are a portable low profile weighing scale for measuring the weight of an aircraft. They can be used for weighing a variety of sizes and types of private, commercial and military aircraft efficiently, reliably and accurately. The total weight of such aircraft can exceed 1,000,000 lbs, as for example in the case of a fully loaded Boeing 747. The required capacity of each scale or weighing pad is in the range of 10,000-60,000 lb. The accuracy of these weighing scales is plus or minus 0.1 percent. These requirements demand specific mechanical structures for scales, especially the scale platform, i.e., height, and the mounting of the load cells to the platform and the remaining elements of the scale.

Not only won't you have to use a jack to lift the plane, these units can be moved from place to place and set up to weigh several planes in a very short time. Just put the wheel weigher on a flat surface and pull or push the aircraft onto the scale.
