fabric scaleFabric Scales

Our custom designed fabric scales feature a swivel indicator with a column extension that makes it possible to weigh stacks of fabric material. This makes it easier for fabric distributors, manufacturers and importers of fabrics to collect inventory data from all their stores and store it in one centralized location.

The idea behind our fabric scale is to weigh fabrics and use the weight as a means of determining an inventory of product. The difference in the weight from the last inventory is used to determine how much of that fabric is sold. The high column makes this scale ideal for weighing fabrics. Wheels for portability mean the scale can be easily moved to different locations in a fabric store.

Features
The scale is basically a portable bench scale that can be transported from store to store, from aisle to aisle, collecting fabric weight data using a scanner. The swivel in the indicator refers to one type of swivel up and down not side to side. The column extension is unusually higher than normal to facilitate the weighing of fabric rolls.

For years, attempts have been made to develop an effective device for quickly determining the weight of fabrics, clothes and linens in a warehouse. Garment importers and fabric manufacturers use our scale to determine the weight in grams per square meter of knit fabric.

fabric scalesHow Fabric Scales Work
Using a fabric sample cutter or scissors and cutting a piece of fabric 100 cm² (10cm x 10cm) and multiplying the weight displayed by 100 you can determine the weight in grams per square meter of knit fabric. The lightest item to be weighed and the heaviest filled container to be weighed are the two criteria used to establish which sampling scale and remote base are to be used. The lighter the lightest item is to be weighed, the more sensitive the sampling scale needs to be. The heavier and bulkier the tote or skid is, that contains the product, the larger and the greater weighing capacity must be for the remote scale.

fabric scaleApplications
While this scale is a brand new innovation in the scale industry, it is pretty safe to say that this scale can be used to weigh anything fabric related.

Garment Importers and Distributors
In the garment industry, large inventories of fabrics are stored and sold on a daily basis, making it impossible to keep track of how much fabric there is and how much as been sold. With our fabric scale this will no longer be a problem.

Fabric Manufacturers
Our scales can be used for weighing couturier silks, woolens, designer fabrics, cottons and blends, as well as notions, patterns and accessories and every kind fabric possible, including drapery and upholstery fabrics.
