Scale Calibration and Repair

Most countries regulate the design and servicing of scales used for commerce. This has tended to cause scale technology to lag behind other technologies because expensive regulatory hurdles are involved in introducing new designs. Nevertheless, there has been a recent trend to "digital load cells" which are actually strain-gage cells with dedicated analog converters and networking built into the cell itself. Such designs have reduced the service problems inherent with combining and transmitting a number of 20 millivolt signals in hostile environments. Government regulation generally requires periodic inspections by licensed technicians using weights whose calibration is traceable to an approved laboratory.

On August 2, 2007 Measurement Canada accredited Interweigh Systems Inc to inspect devices as set out in Schedule A of the Accreditation Agreement. Click here to download a copy of that agreement for your information. Our accreditation number is A-285.

Interweigh Systems Inc.has ISO/IEC 17025:2005 laboratory accreditation approval from its auditor L-A-B (Laboratory Accreditation Bureau - http://www.l-a-b.com). We are very interested in providing you with efficient cost effective service. The following information will outline the work performed on preventative maintenance contracts.

Scale Calibration
SCOPE OF WORK: We will inspect, clean, test, and make field adjustments within maintenance tolerances, furnish certified test weights and supply a written report on completion of the job. This report will show condition the scale was found in and the corrected condition.

After each service visit, the inspection date, the next scheduled service date and the servicing Technician will be documented on an Inspection sticker. The inspection sticker is attached to the scale. This process is just a part of the format we practice as an ISO 9000: 2000 and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited Company. Quality assurance inspectors will be able to assess the state of all weighing equipment, and the documentation should serve to satisfy even the most discriminating of 'Customer Audit Bodies'.

LIST OF SCALES: A full listing of scales will be compiled after the technicians visit.

FREQUENCY: It is recommended that calibration be done either quarterly or to your ISO standards. Any price quoted will include labour, travel, test weights and minor materials.

ADDITIONAL WORK: All additional work required would be pointed out to you or your representative and this work will be done at a preferential rate. All parts will be at the manufacturer's price and minor materials at cost. In the event of emergency breakdowns, there is no minimum charge.

Mass Calibration
Precision Calibration Weights
Interweigh Systems offers precision calibration weights, including all ASTM, OIML, and NBS classes, for balances and scales. We also provide special design weights, weight kits, and weight cases. Our precision weights are designed specifically to assist you with ISO 9000 traceability requirements. We also custom manufacture calibration weights to meet our customer’s needs.

Calibration Services
Our state-of-the-art metrology lab provides quality weight calibration services, including recalibration and refurbishing of existing weights. For all new and existing weights that need recalibration, we offer both Traceable and Calibration Certificates.

Scale Repair
We offer repair services for most makes and models of scales.

Balance Repair Services
We also offer balance repair services performed by factory-trained technicians on all makes of balances. At your request, we will automatically notify you when your balance requires calibration; and, for your convenience, we provide fast turnaround on all traceable, calibration, and balance repair services.

Preventative Maintenance (PM)
We offer preventative maintenance on all our products to protect your investment.
